How do I check to see if my child has a MySpace?
The easiest way is to go to www.icerocket.com and type in search words. For example your child's name, school, nickname, etc, and narrow down and search from there.

How do I check for nearby sexual predators/offenders?
There are many websites that offer this service, but the easiest way is to go to www.fdle.state.fl.us and click on Sex. Pred. Database, then offender search, then neighborhood search, then type in your address.

Talk to your child (see family contract for online safety) Get educated (visit listed resources)

GET THE COMPUTER OUT OF YOUR CHILD'S BEDROOM WHERE THEY HAVE UNSUPERVISED ACCESS TO WHATEVER THEY WANT!!!!

SAME GOES FOR CELL PHONES!!!!  Giving your child a cell phone (especially one with internet, texting, etc capability not only gives your child the ability to call you, but it also gives the rest of the world access to your child. Consider one with limited functions/numbers. Review the phone bills.
