PTA Programs Chair
Description: Give suggestions for programs, plan and coordinate. Most should be
during the day. Coordinate events with PLACE and maintenance. Advertise, use
signs and fliers to promote. Create General Assemblies and coordinate boys or girl
scouts for color guard.
Responsibilites
- Plan and coordinate with the Principal 4 (quarterly) programs to be held during the
day for the students and nightly programs (to be given throughout the year) for the
General Assembly meetings. This should be done at the beginning of the school year.
- Make a contractual agreement with any performer and coordinate with the Treasurer
for payment to present to the performer.
- Coordinate with PLACE, school custodians and school administrators for early access
to the stage or any special equipment the performer may need.
- Create General Assembly flyers and reminder stickers.
- Coordinate with Hospitality to obtain Thank-You gifts for non-paid guest speakers.
- Coordinate with Corresponding Secretary to ensure that a Thank-You note is sent to
the performer or guest speaker.
- Attend all Executive Board and General Assembly meetings - and notify Vice
President when unable to do so.
- Submit a written work plan for the year to the Executive Committee for approval as
well as any changes to the plan during the year.
- Prepare and submit a budget to the Budget Committee prior to its planning meeting.
