PTA Newsletter Chair

Description: Seek and obtain sponsors/advertisers. Collect info from various school members, write articles, submit for approval to President and Principal. Copy and distribute to all students and employees. Make and keep deadlines. 6 per year.

Responsibilites

  1. Be familiar with the goals and principles of the PTA so you can interpret them, through the newsletter, to the membership.
  2. Write articles in a friendly, positive manner. fnclude articles about upcoming events and dates.
  3. Use the newsletter to thank PTA volunteers and businesses.
  4. Ask all PTA Board members for article contributions to each issue.
  5. Ask the Principal, Media, Technology, Reading and Guidance departments for monthly letters (columns). Also ask for article contributions from any "specials" teachers.
  6. Create monthly newsletters (total of 8 - Aug./Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec./JarL, Feb., Mar.,
    Apr., May). Copy sufficient pages for entire student body. Form committee to collate and staple each issue.
  7. Submit newsletter for Newsletter Award (March of each year).
  8. Approval of newsletter must be obtained from Principal and PTA president each month.
  9. Attend all Executive Board and General Assembly meetings - and notify Vice President when unable to do so.
  10. Submit a written work plan for the year to the Executive Committee for approval as well as any changes to the plan during the year.
  11. Prepare and submit a budget to the Budget Committee prior to its planning meeting.
