Planning on volunteering in the 2009-2010 School Year?
School volunteers are required to reapply online and undergo a new background check each school year. Current approved volunteers will be “purged” from the volunteer database on June 30 and can reapply July 1 or after. Once approved, their updated volunteer status will be good until June 30, 2010. Since the district has over 26,000 volunteers, you are encouraged to reapply over the summer to help decrease the volume of applications in August! The link will be available here after July 1.

Kindergarten Camp will be held August 3-6, 2009 and is open to the 1st 75 fully registered 09/10 Kindergarten students. To register, fill out this form and return it to Sand Pine with your $75 registration fee before July 9. Register soon as space is limited. For more information, see the registration form or call the school at 794-1900.

It was a grand farewell to the 5th Grade Class of 2009! On Wednesday, June 3rd, the last day of school, we had our "clap-out" of the 5th graders. Parents joined in this heartfelt annual tradition of Sand Pine's farewell to the 5th grade class for the last time. Congratulations to our 5th Graders! You will be missed, but not forgotten! The PTA's first family dance was a huge success! All who attended will agree that it was a magical evening filled with dancing feet and a wonderful music. Many thanks to DJ Jay Sheridan for keeping us all on the dance floor. Click on the picture to see more images of the evening!

Bravo to the cast of Willy Wonka! The cast had been rehearsing since February for the May 7th performance of this year's Spring Play and it showed. Thanks go to Mrs. Styles and Mrs. Bidgood for working hours with the kids to make this production such a success! Click on the picture to see more images of the production!

The 2009 Relay for Life Sand Pine Pirates Team raised over $12,500!!! The most successful year yet! This special event touches many hearts as we raise money for the American Cancer Society. Our last PTA General Assembly meeting was combined with a family Bingo Night. Lots of families joined us as we said goodbye to the 2008-09 PTA Board Members and welcomed the 2009-10 Board. Do you know that Sand Pine logged in 8,700 volunteer hours this year! That is twice the amount of hours needed to earn Sand Pine the Golden School Award for the 10th consecutive year! Volunteers were treated to a special breakfast to celebrate our achievement. Thank you to all our volunteers, especially Mari Blank, our Volunteer of the year winner with over 780 hours!

November 2008 we held our special Reflections Celebration showcasing the work of our talented students. This year's theme was "Wow!" and we had lots of wonderful entries. Students left with ribbons honoring their work and enjoyed cake to celebrate their participation. Click on the picture to see more images of the evening!

Our second annual Fall Festival was a huge success! With pumpkin contests, hayrides, games and tons of activities, everyone had a wonderful time. What would Halloween be without Sand Pine's annual Halloween Parade? The administration was on a safari this year followed by lots of very creative goblins, ghouls, and an assortment of characters. This anticipated event never fails to entertain parents and friends, and the students think it's pretty cool as well! Click on the picture to see more images of the day!

What a turn out we had for our Dad's Club lunch! Thanks go out to all the Dads and Grandfathers who came to enjoy lunch with their favorite students. Students are always on their best behavior when Dad comes to lunch! Click on the picture to see more images of the day!
